The New Children’s Museum is pleased to exhibit the work of local sculptor, painter, and performance artist Ingram Ober. The Green Century/Re-cycle is an adaptation of two of Ober’s previous, collaborative works. The resulting installation features 10 large-scale canvases accompanied by the customized painting tools (a modified tricycle and shopping cart!) Ober used to paint them.
Visitors will delight in the suspended canvases wafting through the atrium, as well as the inventive and resourceful mechanics behind their creation. The title The Green Century / Re-cycle cleverly refers to Ober’s reinvention of an existing work, the tricycle and cart he engineered for it, and environmental conservation and awareness in the 21st century.
Materials used: Custom Tricycle, Shopping cart, pumps, Fabric dye, muslin, aluminum and assorted hardware.
