Early Childhood Education Programs at NCM serve children not yet of school age. Programs focus on two age groups: 2 and younger, and 3-5 year olds. These programs are offered year-round on a drop-in basis according to four seasonal sessions.
Summer session: June 10, 2008 – August 31, 2008
Drop in rate:

In addition to the drop-in rate and advanced purchase price, the Museum offers a special sibling rate for families bringing two or more children within the defined age group to all Early Childhood Programs. While the caregiver must pay full price for themselves and their first child, every additional child is given a 20% discount. Additional caregivers are allowed to attend Early Childhood Programs at no extra charge.

$8 member, includes Museum admission

The New Children’s Museum brings working artists together with children, giving the community access to the artistic process. The Museum differentiates its arts summer program by focusing on project-based learning. Each camp and workshop will work together to produce a project by working directly, and in small groups, with a contemporary artist.
Camps are designed for children who will enter 1st grade in the fall up to middle school students. Intensive Summer Workshops are for high school students, except when ages are specifically designated.

Open to high school students from schools throughout San Diego County, Mind Your Own… offers teens direct input into the process of Museum programming as well as the opportunity to respond to exhibitions and programs. As in all of the Museum’s educational programming, direct access to artists and the opportunity to work alongside the artists is a central feature of this program. Mind Your Own… encourages teens to engage in contemporary art and current art practices. Serving as mentors for younger visitors is also a key component of the program. Mind Your Own… is a self-directed and defined program, future projects and involvement are defined at the discretion of the group.
