All children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult while at the NCM, except as otherwise noted for classes and special programs.
Parents/chaperones must stay with children at all times and are responsible for their safety and discipline.
We require one adult per every five children. For children under the age of five, we strongly recommend one adult per every three children.
We reserve the right to ask children to “sit out” for part of their visit if they are unable to follow the rules.
Visitors or groups who do not adhere to the rules will be asked to leave early without a refund.
Adults 16 and older unaccompanied by a child will be asked to present ID at the Welcome Desk.
Tickets are valid for the entire day. Re-entry is granted with receipt as proof of purchase.
No pens or markers in the galleries.
No “wheelie” shoes.
No food, drink, or gum allowed on the museum floor. Please enjoy your lunch or snack in the café or the park.
Respect the art.
Act courteously with fellow visitors.
No climbing on the railings or railing walls.
Use caution on stairs.
Take turns.
No pushing or roughhousing.
No smoking allowed anywhere on Museum property.
